Take Action

Submit a comment on the proposed CY2025 Physician Fee Schedule caregiver training rule.

Each year Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reviews payment practices and policy changes under fee-for-service, or traditional, Medicare. Last year, CMS included several milestone proposals to allow for education and training to family caregivers. The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) and the Act on RAISE Campaign detailed the Caregiver Training Services (CTS) and other key changes include in the CY 2024 PFS in the November 2023 Policy Brief: How the 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Advances Supports for Family Caregivers.

In July 2024, CMS released its annual draft proposed updates for next year’s rules (FY 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule), which includes additional updates to both caregiver training/education and other services that address health-related social needs (HRSNs) and could impact family caregivers.

It is CRITICAL for CMS to hear from both individual and organizational caregiver advocates about these changes.

The Act on RAISE Campaign has created a sign-on letter for organizations who would like to express support for the proposed rule and recommend suggestions. If your organization would like to sign on to the letter, you can do so by clicking the button below and filling out the form.

Additionally, to inform advocates’ comments, NAC and the Act on RAISE Campaign have compiled template letters to use and modify to fit your experiences and knowledge. It is so important that agency officials hear from community advocates and individual caregivers. Please consider sharing your input with CMS by September 9!
